Want to discover some dinosaurs? We recently checked out Dinosaur Discovery Day — a free event at the Museum of Natural History at University of Michigan. We’re always looking for fun and educational things to do with the kids, and this one was great. The museum is great for all ages, with detailed displays and hands-on activities for kids to enjoy while they learn.

The Dinosaur Discovery Day was great for our four-year-old, whose attention span wasn’t quite long enough to sit through presentations (or even a puppet show. Sigh.). Instead, he could get his hands — and whole body — into some of the displays, like the carved out boat on display on the fourth floor.

My five-year-old loved the interactive crafts set up at the museum, including making her own dinosaur costume. She spent about 30 minutes painstakingly placing every last sticker on her costume.
